Gary Boring, Personal Trainer, SF
In the Spring of 1993, I weighed nearly 400 pounds. I have a naturally large frame and stand 6'3", but I finally got fed up with looking the way I did, so I started lifting weights in an effort to re-sculpt my body. I lifted weights, jumped rope, and started boxing with both a heavy bag and speed bag as my first steps to getting in shape. There is a vast array of activities to both build muscle on the human body and expand your heart health through cardiovascular workouts. I lift weights six days a week, concentrating on complimentary muscle groups and limiting the workout to a narrow focus. I started with the typical guy thing of chest and arms and have progressed to know each muscle group expertly. My workouts begin with an intense cardio period which delve into a partitioned workout of muscle groups in cohorts with their counter group...i.e. bicep, triceps, and end with a cool down cardio and stretching to keep the muscles limber and flexible. It's about learning about your body, the world around you and experiencing a better life through the care of and improvement to yourself, your body, mind and spirit. copyright 2009 ultrafit sf melissa@ultrafitsf.com |
